Why No Video Lectures and Teleconference Video Discussions?

I just watched that demo and I was impressed. It wasn't slick and glitzy, but their idea seems like it would be effective. To me, that is the best of both worlds; that application has the convenience of being online yet there was personal interaction. Isn't the lack of personal interaction the main criticism that the opponents of DL use to demonstrate that, in their opinion, it's inferior? Something like this might be the ticket.

I know it would be a pain in the posterior. I know there would be time zone issues and bandwidth issues. But, it might be worth it.
