My undergrad was because it was the fastest way for me to graduate (I had a ton of lit classes/credits) and it’s a big hobby of mine, mainly linguistics but I also like literature. I’m getting my MBA because I am tired of being broke, need a Business background on paper to back up what I know in my head (been told this by many interviewers), and need maximum marketability. Also, I am very good with languages and plan on moving out of country within 5 years and a Business background helps a lot with that as opposed to liberal arts. I’m also picking at a Master’s in English/Writing so I can do tech writing on the side and, maybe down the road, teach.

No, a lot of the Lit was though. All of my Linguistics/Applied Linguistics was B&M.

The degree I chose and why

I chose to pursue my BS because I want to advance in my field of work. It took my 7 to 8 years to finish my associates in general studies at a local community college. I really didn't think I would go farther than that until I met an advisor from Alliant International University. Alliant is located in San Diego CA. It is a small but growing University. I chose this school because it offers many degrees to choose from in the field of study of Business. The most important reason that I chose this school was because of their class schedules and class size. I liked the fact that their session are 8 weeks long and that the most biggest class size I ever had was of 20 students. They offer evening onsite classes for the working individuals as well as online classes. This was key for me as I work full time. I am glad that I chose the degree that I did and the school that I did. I started in the fall of 2008 and since then I have been able to attend school full time and work full time..It hasn't been easy but it has been a great journey. I will finish this August if all goes well. I have also been able to keep my GPA above a 3.0 since I started, that for me is a great accomplishment. The professors are understanding and they have great experience and advice for their students. With that I being said, I also plan to pursue my Masters. I plan to continue with MGSM for my MBA.
