NGL, assuming the situation is as it appears from that clip, I'd vote to acquit them.

Whenever I see something like that, my first thought is that it is a staged fake video.

If this was staged video its sends a message, it does appears realistic.
During BLM riots, I recall people with rifles guarding the entrances to their businesses. Etc.
There was a wave of crime when cities liberal policies failed the business owners.

Domestic violence went up during the lockdowns, and crime rose right after the lockdowns ended for psycho-social and economic reasons. A couple of years later, crime was historically low. Despite inflation, the U.S. has one of the strongest economies in the world. A lot of other countries didn't bounce back as quickly, and they're also dealing with inflation.

Perhaps. But, it is strange that the "thief" doesn't try to stand up. That is roll over on his stomach and try to get on all fours and then stand up. Also, the "stick" that was being used to hit him sounded hollow. It would make more sense when it's two against one for both to pin him to the ground and pin his arms behind his back. Also, the fourth person is just taking the video instead of helping. Why would anyone want to drag a whole trash can on wheels into the store to steal instead of just using a plastic bag? Finally, it's not from any reliable source.
