What's happening at the "other" board?

I took the "other board" to mean aed. I went over there, and it seems to be nearly dead as well. I think there were only 50 messages downloaded to my news reader, and I hadn't visited for a year.

Perhaps, with the exception of some spam I saw, aed is becoming civilized again?

By the "other board," I am assuming that you mean distancedegree.net (of course, I am aware of the old saying about what happens when we assume). I have responded to a few items on distancedegree and have had a couple of interesting private e-mails. I check that forum every few days and have been disappointed at the general lack of participation.

There are a few on that forum who bad-mouth degreeinfo, which I think is silly. Degreeinfo has been a source of some good information, a source of some often interesting and sometimes amusing interaction and has given me an opportunity to throw in my 1 1/2 cents on a few topics (like the oft resurrected Ph.D. vs. Ed.D. issue--I never get tired of answering that one). In fact, the people who have posted thus far on this particular thread (along with Steve Levicoff, North, Dick Suhar and a few others) are responsibile for most of my pleasant experiences with degreeinfo.

I find both degreeinfo and distancedegree to be often enlightening and occassionally exasperating, but I take myself far too "non-seriously" to let it bother me.

    Wes: "Sam died..."

    John: Literally or figuratively?

Just popped back on aed again, and it has remained relatively civilized.
