English BA-I had problems as a child in English; not being able to read and write as I should; so I pursued this BA because I wanted to see if I could complete an English BA degree and get over the stigma (Personal) of being "dumb".

Humanities MA-Personal Interest, and still trying to achieve the "your smart" status.

Current- DA Humanities- Personal gratification and achievement, plus the reasons above.

Oh, the DL part! It is convenient.

Sometimes a better quality of life is more important than a pay-raise. I went through the same sort of thing when I became a teacher a number of years ago. I sold a business that was making a good income, but running that business made me hate going to work each day. Now I love what I do, but the paycheck is much smaller and I'm a happier person.

    Hi to all.

The decision to learn online is often predicated by the freedom it provides.

Another is that it allows for one to apply to a school that has a good program and not have to go to the school. That is what is attractive for me. I have sent in my application to Dakota State University Doctor of Science program with a specialization in Information Assurance and Computer Security. I live in NY and being online allows me to "go to school".

I have sent in my application to Dakota State University for the DSc program. I live in NYC.

I had applied many years ago to CUNY but was rejected because they were looking for fulltime PhD students since they were "research school".

I applied to Florida Nova (that was name then) after that but the tuition was way beyond what I could afford at the time.

I have a need for doctoral degree. I was adjunct until recently. I now am faced with competition from those who have doctoral degree even though I have over 20 years experience as adjunct and master's in IS. I need doctoral degree to compete.

I am attracted to DSU because of the low tuition. I have a fulltime job with the City of New York and Distance Learning is the only way that I could go to school and still work.

By the way I am hoping to do the Information Assurance and Computer Security since my day job involves working with networks and security. I have over 30 years experience with IT.

For me DL is the only way that I can get doctoral degree.

I have applied to CUNY for PhD in Computer Systems many years ago. I was rejected and was later told that they wanted students to be around during the school since the school was "research school". I work at full-time job during the day so of course that wasn't practical.

I have a need to doctoral degree. I was adjunct at a school for 7 years until recently. I have been trying to get new position but it seems that many schools state terminal degree required (i.e. doctoral degree). It seems that there are many applicants who have doctoral degree or are ABD. It is hard to compete when I only have MS. Over 20 years experience doesn't seem to matter.

In many cases going DL is the only to get the program needed. I am applying to DSU D. Sc. program in Information Systems that is geared to working professionals. I have over 30 years experience in IT. In recent years I have been working in Network Security. DSU has specialization in Information Assurance and Computer Security. It is highly respected and has many accreditations. DL is the only way to be able to be in the program.

I am applying to Dakota State University for Doctor of Science in Information Systems. I live in NYC and being able to attend classes online is very important since I have a full-time job with the City of New York in IT. Other programs that I have applied for and got rejected many years ago wanted students around during the day since the schools were research schools.

I am applying for the D.SC. in Information Systems specialization in Information Assurance and Computer Security. The program is highly regarded. I would not be able to go if it weren't offering program online.

I have several reasons for going DL:

    1. I work full-time. It is hard to fit classes in with my work schedule. DL is solution...
    2. Until very recently I was adjunct at local CC, where I had been 7 years. Teaching and going to school don't mix. DL is solution...
    3. I am applying to Dakota State University Doctor of Science program in Information Systems with a specialization in Information Assurance and Computer Security. The program is highly respected. There is no way that I could go to Madison SD for classes. DL is solution...
