Hmm, they came out with this recently...

"Each year in the U.S., more than 1.6 million people are diagnosed with cancer and nearly 600,000 die from it, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention."

Am I calculating that right? 3/8ths or 37.5% of people diagnosed perished? Wow, I always thought it was about a 10% or less from previous readings...

Their clinical trial is too small, even though they're targeting Australia and US, only 100 are admitted in this initial trial! Good luck with that!

I am hoping more immunotherapies will become available in the future, better made options as well. Here's looking at "Medical Care" as a whole...

Important step toward fighting cancer. Lets hope there is no sabotaging of these human trials of the drug.
They will find a way if successful to add the drug to the treatments to make then more effective, this is not the enemy to the oncology related apparatus and business.

"This time around, though, the scientists have engineered the cancer-killing virus to not only harm cancer cells, but also to make them more recognizable to the body’s immune system. Researchers hope that this will help make the body’s response stronger, allowing it to fight back better."

The 5-year survival rate for all cancers is 67% (https://ourworldindata.org/cancer-death-rates-are-falling-five-year-survival-rates-are-rising) although varying from a high of 99% (prostate) to a low of 8% (pancreas) That means that although 1.6 million people are diagnosed each year, many of those will live for additional years.

It is. I struggle to not let my brain cancer define me.I have to consider how everything I do might affect my treatment plan. That said, I have the most amazing medical professionals on the face of this earth I have become an extreme outlier. On Veterans Day I will be a six-year Glioblastoma Multiform (GBM) Survivor. Prayers, my amazing wife, family, and support of the world-wide grappling community (Judo, SAMBO, BJJ) has kept me strong. Liz Salmi, another brain cancer survivor, is an inspiration for me. Her blog is the lizarmy.com.
For a time, I used this video to understand my cancer now, I use it to help me explain GBM.
