I'm not sure I love the name "Asia e-University", but it's a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, which is pretty meaningful. How much does it cost to do doctoral work through them?

I actually contacted a number of SA universities, most of which do not want to futz with distance learners, IMHO.

I read somewhere that the custom is to contact the appropriate department with your proposed topic, and then if they decide you are a fit to their program/research area, you will be allowed to apply. Bloemfontein actually was very responsive, after I was directed to the right department. They were willing to work with the deficiency of not having a Master's with Dissertation.

I actually started this with UNISA, and they were responsive, but I read that the way to go was through IACI Canada. However, due to a postal strike and a month long hiatus of Dr. Essalen, this became a two month detour to nowhere. Had I kept in contact with the department, perhaps things would be different.

I am very happy with Free State, and would recommend them to anyone.

Cyber, this looks interesting. Thanks for thinking of me. I will keep this in reserve, since I am already at Aspen and UFS.

    Hey rmm,

Do you have a ball park fee/s range on the PhD at Free State?

    Thanks!
