Greetings. Would anyone care to list URL's to sources of "upper level" (e.g. 300 & 400 series) Computer Science correspondence (PAPER!) courses, CCEs, etc? Thanks in advance! Cordially, Richard Kanarek
Before I decided to complete my degree at FSU I looked at a lot of different programs and I didn't find ONE program that offered upper level CS courses by correspondence. Although I have taken some courses by correspondence (linear algebra and digital design) both of the universities that I originally took these courses from (University of Idaho & Penn State) no longer seem to offer courses by correspondence (at least I can't seem to find any information online.) With the ubiquity of the Internet, it seems many programs have gone to online courses instead. Since I have taken courses both ways I can see why. Online is a much better experience. One possibility is to work with an advisor at COSC and develop some contracts for learning upper level CS material. Good luck, JoAnn Peeler BSCS Florida State University (2004 Planned)
Hope I'm wrong but I don't think those exist from RA schools. UNISA gets mentioned here but, according to this,IACI, they are DETC accredited. Interesting typo of "fails" for "falls" in the first paragraph on that page. If you can determine in advance that the courses will be accepted for credit, at the school of your choice, then a DETC school may give you what you need.
Greetings. Just a short note to say thanks for the replies! It figures that, when I get a clear, accurate reply, the reply contains negative information. <g> With regard to UNISA, while they are "only" DETC accredited, their South African accrediation doubtlessly puts them on a level with US RA schools (IMHO).
