Coursera to launch Career Academy on campus. New marketing initiative to increase enrollment.
With a wide range of Professional Certificates and new ones quickly being added, integrating job-relevant learning into curricula has never been easier or more scalable.

A recent Coursera report found that students are 76% more likely to enroll in a degree program that offers industry micro-credentials as part of their curriculum. We offer Professional Certificates, a form of industry microcredentials, through Career Academy.

Career Academy provides students access to professional-level training from the world’s leading companies—like Google, Meta, and IBM—for an ever-expanding range of roles in software and IT, data science, project management, and business.

The idea of credentials specifically called MicroMaster, etc., has always really rubbed me the wrong way. On the other hand, I appreciate programs that allow you to earn certificates alongside your degree like this offer does, because they allow you to demonstrate that you've specialized. A Bachelor of Science in Economics with a Certificate in Data Analytics makes a candidate a more attractive candidate for a lot of data jobs than a similar student without the cert, even though the skills gained may be identical depending on the coursework two candidates took.

Interesting, that's what I usually recommend people to do is to 'ladder' their credentials or certs, get a degree, and expand on experience through career/job enhancement or training opportunities. From an Associates or Cert/Diploma, people ladder those to a Bachelors, they can do that currently with MicroBachelors as well that ladder to a Bachelors.
