I just want to know how he paid for law school. And if he got a federally subsidized/guaranteed student loan and is deported, is he still obligated to pay? How will anyone collect?

    In calculating his age.
When he was here as infant I think he was eligible for Amnesty under Reagan plan.
If he was here in 1985 etc.
Now case by case I think He can apply for legal status and wile waiting for the results He can b e self employed.

Maybe a good case or two and as a business man who is willing to start a business in USA he can get a resident status.

As to the immigration debate, we have to be fair to citizens of this country and have compassion to both illegal Immigrants and Citizens.
In this country unfair law can be challenged, bills are submitted in congress etc.
No guaranty to be able to change but there is a good chance to be able to influence policy.
USA is one of the most compassionate countries when it comes to Immigration.
Many other countries abuse and deport illegal undocumented immigrants.

    Silly 033 and AU -

You're assuming that the intent of this thread is to get to the bottom line.

    It's actual purpose is to:
    1. Ignore the point.
    2. Not research the source material.
    3. Argue about morality instead of the facts.
    4. Give the liberals without logical thought something to rail about.
    5. Give the liberals with logical thought and the conservatives regardless of such, a migraine.

The funny thing about all extreme liberal political arguments and extreme conservative arguments is that they're all herrings because the operating environment doesn't support either outcome. They really are useless endeavors.

Now granted, I'm an asshole, but I'm a firm believer that we just round them up and escort them to the nearest border/train/low priced air fair provider and tell them Goodbye. I've come to this conclusion after seeing a friend's wife, who works for the fed gov't on deportation cases. The illegal immigrant comes for their hearing, they are told to leave within a set time period are allowed toleave on theirown recognisiance and they just disappear. No one follows up and this process just repeats itself. It's a huge waste of tax payer dollars providi next to zero results.
I'm also to the point where I don't think citizenship should be granted to people born in the country to illegal immigrants. It's become such a large problem that I think a zero tolerance policy needs to be implemented. One caveats, my position doesn't apply to extremely attractive women. Also, if you're coming here from another country at least have the decency to learn English. This has been a rant.

NAM Pandering 101. Brilliant move by the One. Hopefully the Hispanics will see this as a huge nod in their favor and get out to vote in numbers that Democrats need them to. Obama might be losing some of the independnt middle of the roaders who voted for him last time to prove they were not racist. This little uptick in voters might be the surge he needs to get his second term. You can't expect him to fix jag-off Bush's mistakes in just four years do you? Although historic Hispanic voting apathy is a huge problem, despite the loud base and media trumpeting them as some huge voting block, they continue to stay away from the polls. This might help remedy that situation.

I guess we can just keep blaming Bush for everything. On the same note, it will take the republicans longer then 4 years to fix Obama's mistakes.

And thus the circle continues with no one reaching any goal.....

If you are a Democrat or a Republican, you've fallen in to the trap. They are just vehicles for re-election, keep pedaling. Issues fall under party lines, when in reality they should all be looked at individually, with a goal in mind, instead of taking a position simply because a party says so, or taking a position at all. There are far better ways to reach goals and accomplish things without positional (stalemate) bargaining. But instead they have lumped the majority of Americans in to "Us vs. Them" thinking making them identify with one party or the other to get votes, making themselves seem reasonable and the other side seem insane, and both sides think that way.

It isn't a reference to you directly Randall, just an overall opinion.

Understood and agreed. Make a choice based on person, not party. Politicans should support issues based on merit, not because it is "democrat thing" or a "republican thing"

I am for anyone who will dismantle at least half of the federal government and lower taxes. I don't care if he or she is a Republican or Democrat. The person must have a commitment to reducing the size and scope of the government and restoring power to the individual.
