Greetings all! I am extending this discussion to this section, as it requires more than just a simple talk. Do you guys know of any UK, London companies available to US citizens, or would the best thing to do is simple pack up and leave, thus hoping for the best?
All companies are 'available', but unless you have some sort of skill that is lacking in the UK, as an American, you will find it almost impossible to get a British work visa. How is your plumbing skills? Last time I was at Heathrow, they were so desperate for plumbers, they were advertising in the airport terminals! Alternately, you could try to work for a US company that will send you to the UK. Once again, there would have to be a good reason that you are hired over a local British candidate. It is much more expensive for a US to send an expat than to hire local. Other option would be to marry a British citizen.
