This is assuming I didn't dial the wrong number.

I can't remember where I got my information about AIOU, but whatever my source was, I'm pretty sure it indicated that knowledge of Arabic was required for the Islamic studies program.

Beyond that, I haven't really had any contact with AIOU. Given that they do have an English web page, I'd imagine that attempts to contact them in English now would probably be much more fruitful, and I'd love to hear about any DL programs in Islamic studies. It's a question I get quite often, and I never have a good answer for it. (UNISA has something at the bachelor's level, but I think that's pretty much it.)

Tom, unfortunately, i disagree with you here.

I think there might be a problem with the phone line. International Calls are not easy to communicate to as the phone lines in Pakistan are not of enough good quality.

Other than that, your claims of "those guys didnt seem to understand english" dont touch me inside. Although you can be 110% right in your story, but generally in whatever university i call in pakistan, they atleast know 2 langiages i.e. Enlish and Urdu.

You might not know it but almost all the universities in Pakistan have English medium of instruction.

So how could it be possible that you called a university and they didnt understand english?

I am living in Pakistan too and as a matter of fact, i called a university (not AIOU) a few days ago and believe me i was talking in URDU language while the lady was mostly speaking in english as its a standard language in such enviroments.

BTW, answering your post, i think you are right in your opinion about Sir Syed Uni as i also know that the faculty of sir syed is not good/experienced or maybe not good/experienced enough.

But i wanted to include Sir Syed Uni for its facilities to the students and affordability.
