You can't go wrong with being educated but do not mistake college education with knowledge, proficiency or ability to reason. Some people are just not very smart, don't get it and don't know how to or have the drive to succeed in life. They feel that education occurs when you are 18 to 22 years old on college and when you finally get your degree you are entitled to a job. Get the degree, by all means, but do not be surprised when your masters gets you no immediate increase in salary. I was turned away from an entry level job because I had an mcse certificate years ago. My friend has a phd in info sys security and it is a double edged sword.

I have an mcse mcsd CiSSP sun certifications, network+ and will soon have a ccna and a bachelors in comp info systems but the thing that makes me the big bucks is my knowledge and experience. I have had to fire people with masters degrees due to incompetence and lack of knowledge so make sure you know your stuff and keep building your skill set.
