I have been looking into taking my A.A.S. degree credits and going back to school for my B.S. in Engineering. I have seen mention on some sites that there is a limit on how old some credits can be to transfer. I got my A.A.S. in '91 which was 10 years ago so some of the credits are anywhere from 10-12 years old. What is usually the time limit on credits and is this standard practice? Danny
Some credits especially those in technology are at risk of aging out. You need to look at the specific requirements of the school you are interested in applying. Look into their requirements and see what they have to say. The best recommendation I can give is to look around and shop around. John
I'm applying for a Masters in Education to teach math & physics. They don't seem to have any problem with the fact that my credits in those fields are over 20 years old. However, I've been doing engineering all this time, and keeping my skills up to date. If I had been in a non-technical field all this time, they might have had a different attitude. ------------------ Gerry Ashton
Thanks for the responses. I'll just have to see what the schools say. I would think that classes like math and physics wouldn't have changed alot in the last 10-20 years, but say a class I took in Computer Integrated Manufacturing probably has. Since I have been working in the applicable field the whole time (Manufacturing Engineering Designer) hopefully it won't be an issue. Thanks again, Danny
