You won't find me disagreeing with you here, either. Not in the abstract. But in the real-world of New Jersey, AT&T, etc., the TESC MAPS program will in all likelihood be pitched to a low-level, anti-intellectual business crowd. And that's fine, but it certainly leaves people like me out. Which is too bad, because there aren't many of these programs around.

Probably you sophisticated guys with all those degrees can decipher my last post -- i.e., what was written by me, and what by Bill Dayson. It's conceivable that I'll get the hang of this cut-and-post game someday.

    TESC

    To the board:

Thank you to all that replied with the ideas for the Masters in Individually designed studies from Goddard, Antioch, and Union Vermont. I have checked into the programs and will follow up.

THIS is why this board is so important, because it provides fresh ideas to those of us seeking help.

I had NO IDEA however, that I was going to cause so much dissention, controversy and debate with my somewhat innocent request for information.

RA, DETC, TESC, COSC, , H-W, whatever, we are all students here and have found an alternative to the traditional B&M schooling that some academics think is the " Holy Grail ".

Instead of putting down any institution, degree mills excepted, we should foster well rounded academic debates with proven facts and evidence to support our positions. Anything other than that is a waste of everyone's time.

Again, I thank you for your input.

    You're not.. it's ongoing.

But if you filter out all of the "R.A. is no quality control.. TESC sucks.. no it doesn't, you do.." noise, the board is still a fantastic source of information. Fortunately, that "filtering" only requires a few entries to the Ignore List.

You may also want to look at Fort Hayes State Universities Master of Liberal Studies. From what I have read, you can pretty much tailor your degree and I don't think there is a thesis requirement.
