Interesting take on Libertarianism: https://archive.is/Oi3Oj Author: https://www.chapman.edu/our-faculty/joel-kotkin
Oh, no, they shouldn't. Libertarians tend toward the GOP. As a Democrat, I'm thinking I should send the Libertarian Party a small check!
That's commonly believed, I assume because the LP has run a number of former Republicans for office, but it's often not true at the polls. For example, when Robert Sarvis ran for Governor of Virginia as a Libertarian, exit polls showed that three of four people who voted for him would otherwise have voted for the Democrat, Terry McAuliffe, rather than Republican Ken Cuccinelli, who was notoriously socially conservative. This year the LP nominee for POTUS is Chase Oliver, who is half Trump's and Biden's age, gay, pro-choice, and who favors ending the drug war and returning to an Ellis Island style immigration policy. I doubt he's going to pull more who would otherwise prefer Trump to Biden, especially given what the GOP has become.
