Just as I say in Dustin's thread on his Quantic MBA admission that I will likely get rejected, I receive an email from the student coordinator at XAMK which I got to know thanks to a member of this board.
I was accepted into their diploma in higher education : business and tourism track.
It's free on top of that.
Admissions had closed already but because one person got sick and canceled, after only 1 day of having been on their waiting list I can join them.

DegreeInfo really is the place where dreams come true.

Or a God must have heard me.
I'm not normally religious but this can't be a coincidence.

    Guess who's really happy?
Guess who wants to cuddle everyone here from happiness?

    That's the email you get.
Put it on Google translate though because Finnish is apparently really difficult to read :)

And I will turn down the postmaster from Washington uni in Saint-Louis and instead wait for the applications for the MBA at Turku that open tomorrow and I will meanwhile complete this diploma in higher education : business and tourism track.
So for those replied to my thread yesterday : you helped me a lot to decide the path I will be going down.
I carefully read all your insights and took your tips to heart.
That's why I love this board so much, the valuable advice ❤️

Congratulations, TeacherBelgium, on entry into your next program!

Can you tell us a bit more or share some links? How long is the program? Is it synchronous, asynchronous, or some combination thereof? Any residencies? And so forth...

Hello, messdiener (are you from Friesland? In Dutch your username would be '' misdienaar'' but it looks like the Fries version of it.)

    So a little oversight :

    - there are no presential requirements.
    - they ask that you complete all assignments within the deadline because they are super strict about that. It's not a self paced program.
    - Duration : 1,5 years.
    - Extent of the studies: 60 ECTS or 30 American credit hours.
    - Difficulty : level 6 = bachelor's level. We have to keep in mind here though that the Scandinavian countries are the best in the world when it comes to education. They have very high requirements.
    - You get the diploma in higher education in business management and tourism.

You get your own student email, they show you your grades in a program called '' Peppi ''.

I don't know if you guys use Blackboard in America but you can compare the student's system that they give you access to to Blackboard to a big extent.

I'm really happy that I got a chance to participate in this programme.
I also applied for the MBA programmes from about all Finnish universities, that can be completed online.

I guess I really am addicted to education. :)

I will keep you guys updated.

I'm neither a Frieslander nor from anywhere else in the Netherlands, aber das waere echt cool, wenn ich ein bisschen Hollaendisch lernen koennte! (Pardon the German. That's the closest I've got!)

As for the program, that sounds really cool! It's a shame that admissions have already closed, but it might be a fun one to keep an eye on for the future.

Regarding Finnish MBAs, are those also free/low cost? Care to share the long list of ones you applied to?

Finnish degrees are free for EU citizens but are very low cost for non-EU citizens. Unfortunately, most Finnish degrees are not available fully online. You'd pay more to live in Finland than you would pay to actually complete the degree.

TeacherBelgium, how are you liking the XAMK courses so far? Personally, I'm really enjoying them!

    Hello everyone,
I'm doing the double diploma course rehabilitation and business management / tourism with Xamk.
I really love the courses. I enjoy the design of the studies. Easy to digest the content, everything is clear and structured.
    Can recommend.

Can't wait to have this evaluated by Naric when I have my diploma's and transcripts.
I'm hoping they will evaluate them as associate's degrees.

Awesome! How are the health XAMK courses compared to the business/tourism courses? Is there more writing in the health courses or is it about the same as the business ones?

More writing and more difficult exams but super interesting.
I have always been super into medical stuff though so that might explain why I enjoy the health courses more than the business ones :)
