Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Hillary

So I guess Hillary was a "yes woman" when she so vigorously defended and campaigned for Senator Kerry and joined with the left in vicious attacks on President Bush. So much for a strong woman.

My answer does wash. I stand by my post that these problems have always occurred. The issue was that the soldier didn't come up with the question, the reporter did.

Documentation that is not Ratheresque has surfaced wherein the reporter wrote his friends in the media bragging about how wonderful the opportunity was for him to meet with the soldiers and "rehearse" the questions.

Now, if Bush has not been able to manage any job he has ever had why is the unemployment rate among the best in many years. Why are there more African Americans in high government positions in the history of this country? Why is he the only President to actually do something about AIDS in Africa? Why, under his Administration has this country experienced the biggest economic boom in 20 years? Finally, why did America put him back in office?

Harvard University, hardly a bastion of conservative thought, has stated all these economic facts.

First, do you have a reference/link to the Harvard position? Good unemployment and good economic numbers? You (Harvard?) must be measuring relative numbers. You'll remember that for most of Bush's time, unemployment has been horrendous, as has the economy. He steered us into one of the worst economic collapses in modern times. You remember that, don't you?

This must be the sixth time we have argued about his appointment of African Americans. You keep pointing it out like it proves Bush's stance on civil rights, or something. He appoints staunch conservatives for the most part, who tow the GOP line, who also happen to be black. Kudos to Bush for scouring the country to find the meager handful who fit the bill. Condy Rice is a perfect example. Are you arguing that Bush is working hard to help the average black in this country? That is, blacks who don't have oil tankers named after them.

I don't see Bush doing a hell of a lot for inner city blacks. I will join you in trumpeting Bush's stance on minorities if he starts making appointments of minorities that actually represent the interest of other minorities - people that the average minority can feel is a champion of his or her causes. So far that hasn't happened, and instead the GOP jumps up and down pointing to skin color as if that actually means something. It's not skin color; it's mind set and real conditions that define the average minority in this country. I suspect that deep down you know that, and you also know that Bush grand appointments are no more than fancy window dressing. As one who lives in the inner city and is surrounded by minorities of every stripe, I can tell you that no one, absolutely no one, is jumping up and down excited over what Condy Rice is going to do for them.

You also forget that his most important "black" appointee, Colin Powell, got the hell out, and in fact wanted out from the get go, he was so dissatisfied with Bush and Co.

Well Tom, the election is over and I don't intend on rehashing "left overs."

Bush won, Kerry didn't, blacks are in regardless of their political philosophy when Dems didn't do it in such numbers even with blacks who held to a liberal agenda.

Bottom line, we win and will be happy for the next four years.

I will find the Harvard link. Give me a day or two.

Whaaat? You don't want to defend Bush's numbers? You don't want to tell us how exactly the economy is booming, or how and why unemployment is down? You don't want to defend Bush's stance on civil rights, or affirmative action as being really pro minority? You don't want to defend the war as being superbly engineered despite the apparent failures? You don't want to talk about Colin Powell? You don't want to defend his recent minority appointments as really being liberals in GOP clothing?

Just a "we won; you lost; nyah nyah"?

    I'm totally disappointed. :(
