Texas State University's PhD in CJ Now Ranked

    I guess U.S. News only ranks crimonology programs every 10 years or so because the last ranking was around 2009. The 2018 rankings were just put up, and my university is now ranked #29. That's not bad for a program that just started graduating PhD students around 2012/2013. It now ranks higher than some much older PhD programs.

    My university was working toward this by only hiring professors who graduated from ranked programs and reducing the number of part-time students. I was a little disappointed, though, that they stopped catering to working professionals. Most of my cohort had people working full-time in CJ; the cohort after mine mostly had students who could attend full-time and do assistantships. I only did an assistantship for one year and went back to working full-time.
