You are correct that the prolific Stanley earned his doctorate prior to LRS accreditation. Much of what he has accompished in God's grace has to do with the force of his personality, skill, and intellect. However, I suspect that he has been helped by the fact that LRS is accredited (over a decade now). He uses the term 'Dr.' and his degree appears on his dust cover. He is not going to suffer a credibility gap when his degree is known to have come from LRS because it is accredited. Dorothy Patterson now has a UNISA doctorate as well. I think her husband Paige Patterson is or was the President of Southeastern Baptist Seminary (as well as a formidable force in the take over of the SBC by conservatives).
