This is going to be my next test. Does anyone know any good books to help me with this test? I've found this site http://www.io.com, but it doesn't seem to have all the info I need. I am waiting for the "dummies" guide. It doen't come out until the summer!
Any recommendations from previous testers would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Traci,

Since you asked... I took it yesterday. My University will give me 3 upper-level English credits for it - which will then give me a minor in english (in lieu of no minor at all)

The website you cited has just about everything you might need to know, plus some. Additionally, print off the DSST outline of the test from http://www.getcollegecredit.com/NEWFACTSHEETS/Technical_Writing.PDF and go through it a couple of times.

I can say that approximately 6 of the example questions appeared on my test in some form.

Additionally, I used one of the books listed as a reference (Brusaw) while I studied for this one. Total study time was about 4 hours.

I wouldnt sweat this test - it is very straight forward, no tricks, no subjective questions.

If you have any other questions, please post it here.
