I read about potential plans to stop giving Stafford Loans to graduate students. Does anyone know if the Stafford Loan program is still offering subsidized loans to graduate students, or has the recent budget problems in the US created problems?

Yes, you can still get the subsidized loans, at least until (I believe July 1 of) next year.

I am currently attending graduate school online and I am receiving subsidized loans for this academic year (two six-month terms).

What happens on July 1 of next year? Do the subsidized loans end then?

Yes subsidized loans end. That means tuition accrues on your student loans while you are in school, which is currently not the case now. The government will make more money from the student loans that you take out, and students will run out of money or "maxout" on the loans they can take out (you will reach the maximum loan money available fast). The best strategy to avoid excessive debt is to borrow only what is needed to pay tuition, and then at a minimum, pay accrued interests while in school.
