Received this e-mail, thought I'd pass it along:

Interested in completing your degree at Western Governors University, WGU Indiana or WGU Washington? StraighterLine and WGU are partnering to offer a new tuition discount for potential WGU students.

*Get a $50 tuition credit from Western Governors University for every StraighterLine course you transfer. No limit - you could save $500 or even more!

Plenty of StraighterLine Courses to Choose From
StraighterLine offers courses that transfer into every one of WGU's bachelor degree programs, which include WGU's Teachers College, College of Business, College of Health Professions and College of Information Technology. See course list. For each program, between 9 and 15 courses are eligible for transfer. Course mapping guides available upon request.

You can now contact a StraighterLine Course Advisor if you have questions on which StraighterLine courses will fit into your WGU degree program.
Sincerely,

The StraighterLine Team www.StraighterLine.com

PS - Do you know others who can benefit from the flexibility and savings of a StraighterLine Course? Refer them to us and get a $25 Amazon gift card.

*Tuition discount applies to first-term tuition for StraighterLine students who are admitted to WGU. The discount is $50 per StraighterLine course that (1) a student completes before his or her first term of enrollment at WGU and (2) that is eligible for transfer as outlined in this page"

I intentionally left the self-serving amazon credit gift card line for those of you who want to use it, just send me your e-mail :wink1:

Wait, not only do they get credit, but they get $50 in waivers for each course? Not only is that an incredible deal, but it is fantastically stupid not to take the deal!

Indeed - if the Universities mentioned are being considered, it sure seems like a natural choice to not only earn a quite a few credits rather quickly (saving $) while saving more $ in tuition.

Depends on how many competencies are actually knocked out by taking these for WGU-- you'd have to check the guidebook for any program you're interested. Since Straighterline is still heavily business and gen-ed related, I'd imagine business majors will benefit more than IT, education or nursing majors.

Still, knocking $500 off $3K tuition for six months is still a pretty good deal-- not to mention some Straighterline courses might be faster to complete than the requisite WGU competency assessments.
