University of Oklahoma has an EMBA in Aerospace and Defense, and Rice University offers a joint MBA and MS in Space Studies. But, Space Operations seems to be the business degree for the space industry.

Okay, then! Snake oil salesmen never really went away...neither did snake oil.

Yeah, many many Florida 'universities' are popping up due to lax regulations! These are 'state' recognized... but have no additional 'proper' accreditation. It's so similar to being unaccredited and starting off, I wouldn't go for any of these until they get.

Colorado School of Mines states that it offers the world's first graduate program in Space Resources. The program offers a grad cert, master's, and doctorate, and it appears all are available online.

Chinese spacemen absolutely do not hold such "space" MBA degrees, but they will land on the moon.

I don't understand the seeming skepticism about this as an MBA specialization.

Good question. For me, the commercial space hype leaves a bad taste.

Our then Governor pushed hard for the creation of "Spaceport America" in the county just north of me. When the Legislature refused to fund it, he twisted arms and engaged in various political maneuvers to convince my county and the one just north to fund the construction with revenue bonds. A referendum just squeaked by so it got built.

Since then, it's been busy with small, sometimes oddball stuff including Virgin Galactic but I've never seen any public account of the funds we are on the hook for. Space doesn’t make us any money that I know of yet consumes enormous government subsidies. If the damned Spaceport is so commercially wonderful, sell it to some private party and retire the bonds.

I see it as no different from aviation management MBAs that are focused on managing airports or aircraft companies.

Commercial aviation is a gigantic world wide industry. Commercial Space is still working out of its garage.

But I do get the point. Heavily subsidized though it may be, commercial space DOES have a future.
