Is the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology accredited? It looks perfectly legit but I can't find anything on RA (or ABET) on the site? Specifically the B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Just curious.
The South Dakota School of Mines and Technology is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association. (This is one of the 6 regional accreditation bodies and is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.) Mark

FWIW, I used to work with a guy with his BSME from this school. He was one of the most competent engineers I ever met. His early career was with the railroads; when I worked with him he was a plant engineer and later plant manager for several geothermal power plants. I'm sure he did his degree residentially.
We recently spent some time looking into this school because we had a job applicant from their class of 2001. It's clear that the school is extremely strong in engineering. As was the candidate, to whom we made an offer. Which unfortunately he turned down in favor of something better, despite all our efforts.
