Can one of your many well informed readers tell me where is a good source for purchasing textbooks(can be used too)for Dantes/ Tecep exams.
I usually start my searches at http://www.bookfinder.com That searches dozens of on-line booksellers, new and used, and compares availabilities and prices. Be sure to make that singular; 'bookfinders' goes to a porn site.
My favorite search engine for books is www.pricegrabber.com . After you enter your zip code it even includes the shipping and total costs for each vendor. However, www.mysimon.com is also good and includes more total vendors and more used books. Just research a merchant a little bit if you've never ordered from them before. I usually check www.resellerratings.com before I order from a vendor for the first time.
My favorite source is <http://www.half.com> Click on "Books" and search. Most of the bok sellers are students needing the bucks. For out of print of university press books, <http://www.abebooks.com> Also, good old amazon.com allows you to search by subject words, then have the result ordered by customer review (best first, and so on). Finally, I always tend towards text books that have been through some number of printings over "new" textbooks (unless a newer on addresses some major shortcoming, personal or not): they've withstood the test of time and it allows typos (like in the answer key!) to get cleaned up! --Orson
