I am interested in entering the distance learning field. I have a Masters in Education and Technology. I have been told that I should get a teaching license first as way into the distance learning field. Any opinions or suggestions are welcome.
Do you mean you want to teach online at a college? I teach for a few school (IT classes) and it is good. I am not sure about your field. I am sure others will jump in.
If you were going to try to teach education related courses, then I would suggest you not only get a teaching license, but also have k-12 teaching experience. I've noticed when I have looked around for online positions, most schools seem to want their education instructors to be working in the field. -Matt
