    Galanga,

One last comment if I may.

I see that the plainly racist "Ho Ho Ho" sarcasm that appeared originally at the top of your last message has been deleted. A very commendable action by the Administration.

The intention, however, is still there and, thus, a comment is justified.

Don't you think that was a sarcasm with explicit racist overtones? It amounted to laughing sarcastically and looking down on Asian names in general and on the integrity, quality, and respectability of all people bearing Asian names.

I wonder, what your students and colleagues of Asian origin would have to say about that.

Should we take this plainly prejudiced attitude, which came out quite spontaneously, as a general pointer to the real nature of your ongoing campaign against St Regis?

"Ho Ho Ho" is racist? Ho Ho Ho, how do you figure?

Dr. Dovelos, I notice that in your last post that you stopped posting your real name twice, what kind of cowardly character flaw might be deduced from that? Ho Ho Ho

Dr. Dovelos, have you noticed that the Oregon's ODA website has some very interesting recent links? For example the page
    http://www.osac.state.or.us/oda/diploma_mill.html links to
    http://www.hep.uiuc.edu/home/g-gollin/diploma_mills.pdf
Is this the website that you mentioned was closed? Ho Ho Ho

P.S. Dr. Dovelos, thanks for your posts. They are a fine reward and encouragement for zealous consumer activism against academic fraud. Ho Ho Ho

    what's new besides...

No, nothing was deleted. The text of the post exists as originally posted.

There was no text that was deleted by administrators so the "intention" that you ascribe to it is a fabrication.

John D: please post the text "that appeared originally at the top of [my] last message [that] has been deleted." Perhaps a DegreeInfo administrator could comment on the veracity of your claim.

Imagine that a hypothetical "Professor Dr. Lesueur" (why, here's his picture!) announced that he had opened an unaccredited university. In this case it would also be appropriate to have a subject field incorporating "ho ho ho." If a Professor Claus had opened a similarly unaccredited school, the same subject would apply. If a Professor MacDonald had done the same, I might opt for "EIEIO" although at Christmas perhaps "hoe hoe hoe" would do as well.

When you have clicked on "Post Reply", in the browser window where you enter the reply, if you scroll down, you see the earlier posts in the thread, but without the titles. That is what led John Dovelos to his erroneous conclusion that "Ho Ho Ho" was deleted.

Added so it can disappear later (Ho Ho)

Thank you Mark, that explanation makes sense.

Does anyone have an explanation for how "Ho Ho Ho" is possibly racist?

The only thing that I can imagine is so off the wall I can't imagine that Dr. Dovelos is referring to it. That is that "Ho" is slang for "whore" but where is the racist slur in that???

Sure. Dovelos' claim is that it's racist to make fun of any characteristic that correlates with race -- even characteristic surnames.

Dovelos is on thin ice. Bruce Tait banned the last person who alleged there was racism here, saying "I don't take kindly to being called a racist."

Oh, Kho, Ho, Ho, Ho. I didn't get that.

I hope that Dr. Dovelos does not get banned. I enjoy emotionally charged posts.
