Russia is threatening NATO The Kremlin warned Tuesday that a ground intervention by any NATO country would lead to a direct clash between the Western military alliance and Russian forces, after comment by President Emmanuel Macron of France about the possibility of putting troops from NATO countries in Ukraine. Russian media last week published an audio recording of a meeting of senior German military officials held by Webex discussing weapons for Ukraine and a potential strike by Kyiv on a bridge in Crimea. The name of the game for Putin is survival. He has no grand ideology worth dying for in a giant radioactive cloud. No Hitler, he. Right now, I'd guess he's looking for a way out of the Ukraine debacle and he isn't finding one that leaves him in charge. A wider war isn't the answer and he knows it.
