    Mission

"The Romano Byzantine College is a religious Institution of the Syro-Russian Orthodox Catholic Church (Romano Byzantine Synod) and its Metropolitanate. It offers continuing and distance education accessible to all that desire to incorporate spiritual growth with academic professional development. Under the patronage of St Mark the Evangelist it was approved by the Synod on February 23, 1995. It became an academic institution receiving canonical approbation on November 1, 1995. It is the result of a creative response for a Christian distance education program serving those who cannot leave home to study, but wish to earn degrees in religious vocations through non-traditional study that requires both academic (study) interpretation and independent research. It serves people of all faiths and does not discriminate against any person eligible to matriculate who has met our academic standards. Our diverse methods seek to build upon personal competence through prayer, research, scholarly inquiry, and the advancement of knowledge in matters of global and religious significance. We emphasize the dignity of each person. The academic programs offered are theocentric and holistic in nature to ensure a well-rounded education. Students are encouraged to use their qualities in completing research projects and developing goals for responsible participation in a transformational world."

Don't know anything about this body. Reminds me a little of the Mercian Rite Orthodox Chruch. They traced their apostolic succession through Villate (as do many other bodies). They started a seminary (complete with Naturopathic degrees), religious orders and even verfied a miracle. They also used what this school does (accreditation by internal synodical bodies).

Bear or Levicoff has an amusing story about the Mercian Rite and its disappearance.

Not canonical Orthodox. Not. Not even close.

Before part of the thread was lost, John Bear posted he thought it may have had a connection to the Occidental Church. A quick run of that found Stephen Thomas who was the Archbishop, etc of the Mercian Rite Catholic Church/Occidental something or other. Now this new synod. Traces apostolic succession through Villate.

This organization like the old Mercian one offers a plethora of New Age remedies. Maybe uncle Janko could use some enzyme therapy. Could be a side line uncle.

My enzymes are OK. Of course, since the Lutheran Mass derives from the Roman Rite, so are my azymes (tho the Orthodox would not think so).
