Does anyone happen to know if credit from the CLEP Generals can be split up to fulfill different areas of requirement for a degree?

For example, the BSBA from TESC requires 9 credits of Nat. Science and Math (3 Precalc, 3 Stats, 3 Nat. Science). It also requires 9 gen-ed elective credits. I was going to take the College Math CLEP to fulfill 6 of the 9 gen-ed elective credits. I was also planning to take the Nat. Science CLEP to satisfy the Nat. Science requirement (3 credits) and the 3 remaining gen-ed elective credits.

Is this possible? Can I use the 3 of the Nat. Science CLEP credits to satisfy one area, and the remaining 3 to satisfy another?

I just don't want to find out later that I took the wrong test.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, that is exactly how it works. Your gen ed requirement fills first, it overflows into gen ed electives. When that is full, it overflows into free electives. That's always the direction they fill though- never backward- so it is the safest to save free electives for last.

Does this become an issue when applying for both the ASBA and BSBA? I wanted to complete most of the CLEP/DSST exams and ALEKS before I even enroll.

For example, the ASBA requires 6 credits of Nat. Science and Math (3 Nat. Science and 3 Math), but the BSBA requires 9 as mentioned in my previous post..

If I were to complete both Intro to Stats and Pre-Calc via ALEKS, what would happen to the other 3 credits? Do they get banked for the BSBA?

When you apply, they will do a credit evaluation using the credits you have earned for the degree you seek. If you want to work on two degrees, they do another evaluation. At TESC, you log in to myEdison, and use the drop down menu to display the degree you want to view. It's possible that you will see a lot of shuffling of credits, but the process and category is always the same. So, when you pull up your associate plan, you will see the last item on your transcript is your extra credits- these are the unused for that degree. They are not banked (a word with a different meaning at TESC) they are just existing. When you pull up your bachelor's degree, you see them used.

If you know you want both degrees, it is my suggestion to have both on your degree plan from day 1. Also, be very diligent in learning correct credit placement- I had to correct them twice on my transcript :) It's not hard to understand once you get into it.
