    Dear XYgirl,

have you taken into consideration that some medical studies will not be recognised by overseas professional societies or registration baords.

You might check with the registration board in the location that you wish to work to sea what are acceptable studies. For example, in Oz it is very difficult for overseas medical practioners to be registered as doctors etc.

Don't do a course unless it gets you what you want.

    cheers

  2. The University of Queensland is regarded as one of the top two or three universities in Australia. It is a public university and operates in accordance with legislation. Years ago it did have an external studies dept but they don't seem to promote that now days. There does seem to be a bit of confusion between the University of Queensland and the University of Central Queensland - they are separate and not connected. Central Qld does offer a number of courses externally.

I have to say that I am a graduate.

  3. If anyone has had problems with an Australian university and believe that something is dubious they should take it up with the federal department of education not quite the current name.

By the way the federal minister for education has today become Prime Minister of Australia.

All Australian Universities are good as we have proper regulation and we are less 'free market at any cost' than America.

If an American does not recognise the quality of that then I suppose its their loss.

Sonata88, would you care to elaborate? I work for an Australian Uni so I am very interested in what our 'dubious intentions' are seen to be.

As others have already mentioned, Central Queensland University is quite a legitimate Uni. All Australian Universities are very well regulated by the Federal Government.

Sorry- I just realised how old this thread was :)
