I've researched offerings within this sector of distance learning. Besides the Stanford program ($470 total w/CEU transcript), below you'll find numerous offerings under a grand, and many for less than $500. All are available from "brand names".

    - Colorado State University, Ergonomics Certificate Online, $594 total for 3 courses leading to a certificate.

    - Rutgers University, Business Mgt Online Short Certificates, $799 each

    - Teachers College Columbia University, New Teacher Online Survival Series, $349, according to the latest catalog

    - University of Georgia, Web Survey Research and Data Delivery Methods Certificate, $399. This cert is also part of a larger "Principles of Marketing Research Certificate" that goes for $949

    - University of Louisville, Time Management Certificate Course, $99

    - Washington State University

    Internet Safety for Educators, $200

Telework Online Certificate, $195. Two options available.

    - West Virginia University

    Personal Financial Planning, $502

Two more opportunities that I still await more info are via JerGroup (coursecatalog.com) through James Madison University and Clemson University. The certificates are "Customer Service" certificate ($119) and "Web Mastering and Web Content" ($100).

James Madison University, in conjunction with the Institute of Certified Professional Managers, also offers a Certified Manager Program for $660.

    Hille,
There are cheap grad credits in education are through the learner.org web site. You won't get a cert, but if your job will award you pay or promotion for just "having them" you can rack up a max of 5 per semester!
Go to the site www.learner.org and click on the "courses" tab (not distance learning tab). Your transcript will come through Colorado State University (If I remember) 3 grad credits are about $250, and a 2 credit grad course is $170 - NO BOOKS.

    Cost
The cost for the noncredit certificate program is $567, which covers all instruction. If two or more people from the same organization register, the fee is $515 per person. Registrations must be submitted together.

Jennifer, you are correct. The Rutgers programs are not for graduate credit. In fact, none of the programs I list result in the award of undergrad or grad credits. Instead, all award "continuing education units" (CEU). Isn't the OP requesting leads for "professional development credit"?

"Looking for new-very low cost opportunities for Professional Dev. credits"

Not to sound facetious, but when one mentions "professional development credit", I take it to mean continuing education outside the sphere of undergrad or grad credit.
