A co-worker mentioned to me that the VA won't allow you to use the Post-9/11 GI Bill for a second Masters Degree. Something about you have to show progression... Bachelors --> Masters --> PhD. Is this true? I have 16 months of eligibility left and was planning to use it on a second Masters Degree program.

I think they may have it confused with Tuition Assistance. I was told that same thing about TA when I was in. I used my Post 9/11 GI Bill for my J.D. and recently enrolled in a Masters. No one gave me any issues. They just wanted to make sure I still had benefits left.

I agree with PeacefulChaos. The Post 911 GI Bill can be used for a plethora of things to include degrees at the same level as one you already have. Tuition Assistance can only be used for "progressive" degrees up to a Masters (TA can no longer be used for doctorate level degrees nor can it be used for certificates).

This is definitely not true, as I am using the Post 9/11 GI bill right now for my second masters degree.

I used my Post 9/11 GI Bill for my second Master degree at Georgetown University. So, I don' think that is the case, I believe you're referring to Tuition Assistance. Because I was told by the Educational Officer (2005) at MCB Pendelton JRE that TA is not suitable for 2nd degree at same level as well as Doctorate.
