    Uselessly useful

I use a case study [remains unidentified] in Research and methodology classes ...

An insurance company did a poll/survey to determine how well they were recognised. The result from a suitable 'n' and taken randomnly showed 8% of the population in the given area.

They then proceeded to spend 250,000 British Pounds to further establish their presence etc..

After the end of the program they then did a poll/survey which closely represented the population surveyed the previous time - same days, same time separation overall, same weather pattern and so on.

The subsequent results showed that 4% of the population recognised them.

    The fault lies where?

    Are either results dependable?
