Earn Graduate Credit : PBS TeacherLine

After taking these courses, you can choose a school to have them transcripted as graduate credits in education (same idea as the VESI courses). The courses vary in cost, but are about $100 per credit, plus whatever fee the college will charge, the lowest being $80/credit.

    Under cost it says this....

"The cost to obtain graduate credits is in addition to the tuition paid for the course, and is paid directly by the learner to the credit-granting institution."

Does that mean you have to pay the regular tuition to the school in addition to the PBS course fees?

No, not regular tuition, but you do have to pay the school's fee for accepting the PBS courses for credit. Altogether, it works out to about $180 per credit, for the average course and the least expensive school to get credit from.

I was at a Virginia Education Association event and one of our guests was a local PBS guy who handled some of these courses. He said the idea behind these courses is to give teachers the opportunity to earn recertification points. They weren't designed to transfer into a degree program.
