Pay for Independent Study Courses

Hi All,

I am wondering if anyone facilitates an independent studies course and how much their institution pays?

I believe I recall that the model can be anywhere as pay per student, or a lump sum, but I'm not sure. Are there any of you who get paid per student (I believe American Public University System might or used to pay this way).
