I was looking at Columbia Evangelical Seminary's (unaccredited) website and then their FB page. I noticed that their former president posted that transcript services are being handled by Parchment. I assume someone could probably get a replacement diploma from them too.

This was actually kind of impressive. CES took the initiative and time to ensure that transcripts were handled professionally and that when they closed there was an avenue for former students to obtain those transcripts.

That was very responsible. I am not sure if Dr. Walston has anything to do with that but I wouldn't be surprised since he seemed ethical.

More and more accredited schools appear to be using the company to handle transcript requests. I have gone through them and you fill out an electronic form and then wait for approval from the school.

I did not know that Parchment would handle unaccredited schools as well.

Well I guess they aren't the arbiter of that issue and are simply an electronic storage facility for transcripts and issuer of electronic and hard copy diplomas.

Queens College of Theology has a legitimate sounding name but is an unaccredited facility that has had issues raised about it. Nothing horrible as I recall just allegations that it is very substandard.

  4. I believe someone paid the 25 bucks to go through the paywall. They reported the "masters" was high school level and that "the entire doctorate required less work than a single doctoral class"

Both the Masters and doctorate can be completed in a weekend.

This last point makes me wonder how in the world Parchment would document things.... PhD Bible Studies 9/14/24 - 9/17/24 (Highest Honors) ??

Parchment diplomas usually look like the printed kind, with only a completion date. Transcripts are trickier, I wonder if they'd include a start and end date or maybe only the graduation year and the classes taken. (Incidentally, Quantic does something like this with their transcripts.)
