Okay, I'll admit it: As someone who has used email and its predecessors since the early 90s with FidoNet, I was slow to accept the whole web forum business. I figured I'd just been tolerating it because of Degreeinfo, but I ran across a Mac-oriented web forum earlier that uses the same software and found that I really have grown to like the interface. Anyone know if there's a directory of these things? Cheers,
vBulletin have a list at http://www.vbulletin.com/links.php But there are many other web-board packages out there (including Infopop used previously by degreeinfo) so it's hard to locate interesting boards.
How cool, Gert--thanks! I found a number of boards by doing a Google search for "Powered by vBulletin"; here's one that many (most?) of you folks would probably get a kick out of: http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/ (For the uninitiated: Cecil Adams's column The Straight Dope can be more-or-less described as a slightly more thick-skinned version of Imponderables. A must-read for trivia afficionados, though I do find myself wondering where Mr. Adams manages to find all of this information. Does he have an army of paid researchers with master's degrees in library science, or what?) Cheers,
