Hello, if you have a second, my chef friend is up for New York City's Hottest Chef. LOL (no, really) would you go please vote for him?? Vote for Lon Symensma http://eater.com/archives/2008/12/hottest_chef_in_ny_final_round_allegretti_vs_symsensma.php#more
To be a semi-responsible voter, I called my big time-lawyer cousin in New York. As it happened, he and his wife had been to Buddakan a few weeks ago. He said, and I quote, "It was one of the best $250 meals we've ever had." Well that's good enough for me. (So how big a discount do we get when we mention that we are DegreeDistcussion members?)
Done. Although, as a guy I can't tell if he is handsome or not, but I take your word for it. I hope he wins. Abner
>> I'm afraid it won't be much! LOL (I'm eating there on December 30th) While I can vouch for his culinary talent, the contest is for "hotness" LOL. Contest ends tomorrow and it's a very close call!!!
Sorry, cook, I voted for Allegretti, what a hunk! (of course, I kid, voted for your guy, now wondering when are we getting some caliente pictures of cookderosa? )
>> LOL!! Now THAT's FUNNY! You do know I'm a 38 year old mother of 4 right? You can see my pic on facebook.
That's ok, cook, after all, how does the old saying goes, "like fine wine...."? (I'm kidding, btw, good luck to your friend ) edit: Wow, cook, you are famous, a bona fide celebrity in DegreeInfo, can I have your autograph? )
>> Are you poking fun at something you found on Google? You can google my name "Jennifer Cook DeRosa" with "Lon" and you'll find a recipe he and I did for beef wellington years ago.
Glad to see you go the reference. Not poking fun at you, though, I'm quite serious, beef wellington, bien cocido, stat! (ok, now I'm kidding ) (had to Google it, by the way, must admit I'm not well-versed on the ways of fine dining, looks quite delicious, though, must try it one day )
Did you get a lot dumb jokes when using your maiden name; Jennifer Cook, the chef? When I was in the police academy, the department's Catholic chaplain was named Father Copp. Oh, and just voted for your guy, but it's not looking good. I tried stuffing the online ballot box, but I think only one vote is allowed for one computer. I'll have to go login with my laptop and broadband card to put another vote in.
>> Yes, except that's why I decided to keep it when I got married- I thought with a name like Cook, it was just too perfect. Thanks for voting! Our local radio station (IL) is going to say something soon, so I hope he gets major votes tomorrow! P.S. I'd have thought an expert like you knew about cookies
You got my vote too... looks like Lon's winning 50.8% to 49.2% now! In all honesty, I would've voted for him anyways. The other guy has a seriously boyish look. Maybe I'm looking at this in the wrong perspective, though. This is why guys don't judge guys, lol.
I like chocolate chip myself. With a nice glass of warm milk, truly delicious. Sadly, not anymore, it seems Allegretti rallied his troops. I'd eat Allegretti's soup of the day.... if you know what I mean. (I kid, of course, for some reason, he's not my type, she is! )
