Most small Caribbean island nations do not have postsecondary oversight capacity or any local colleges above the two-year level. We certainly accept U of West Indies degrees, and they have branch campuses in various places. But most of the flag-of-convenience suppliers in the Caribbean are not accepted here.

Broadly speaking, if a nation has no four-year degree programs at its own local colleges, it can't show that it has oversight capacity for anyone else's.

We have found problems in all sorts of places. In recent years we have disallowed degrees issued by entities operating in such foreign lands as Australia, Canada (mainly British Columbia), Switzerland, Cote d'Ivoire, Senegal, Pakistan, Ireland, Denmark, South Africa, Lebanon, Israel, the UK, Singapore, Malaysia, India, Spain and Texas.

Outside the Caribbean, there is no region or country besides Liberia that is a consistent problem. The most recent problem locations are Lebanon and the West African region in general.

We rarely see problems coming from Latin America, except the occasional oddity. Most of the Latin American fakes seem to be U.S. or Caribbean fakes in drag, not locally-grown fakes.

    Is UK Alone ?

I appreciate your fight, dear Mr. Contreras , but I still want a precise answer, if possible, to know exactly the position of your State.

You wrote on behalf of yourself and the ODA of Oregon :
Oregon recognizes any UK degree that is issued by an institution authorized to grant degrees by the British government.

It is very clear and sensible and we thank you for that.

Now I ask you could I replace in that phrase, UK by any member of the European Union ? Or is there, for the State of Oregon, European Countries (political...) that do not qualify.

    Thank you in advance,

Could you please keep us informed of the whereabout of the Lawsuit of KWU please, it is so important.

Oregon does not screen out degrees from any country unless that country has obviously gone to the dogs, e.g. Liberia, and has lost control of its own oversight mechanism. So any EU country or non-EU European nation would qualify under the same standards as we would apply to the UK.

We cannot comment on the KW lawsuit because it is in progress. There won't be any new public filings for a month or so, as I understand the process.
