Online Low cost community college with flexi start dates?

I'm asking this on behalf of a friend.
She's interested to start on a degree. And I told her about community colleges offering online classes which might keep her total cost low.
But I can't find any that offers self paced or flexi start times.
Can anyone recommend some?
I think budget wise, looking at something below $150/credit.

Aren't credit-bearing courses from Clovis on fixed semester or part-semester schedules, not self-paced or "flex start time?"

But i can't seem to find any reviews from here.

 

There are too many great options out there to choose something funky and unknown.

If Straighterline won't work check out the following:

Find a Course-Independent Study in Idaho-University of Idaho offered through a state consortium, $100/credit, flexible start, up to a year to finish...very attractive.
Self-Paced Online Courses Similar to above, state school, flexible, $100/credit or so.
Independent Study > Division of Continuing Education > Colorado State University-Pueblo Far and away my favorite choice, a bit more expensive at $150/credit, but worth it in my opinion for the excellent customer service. I often think that if I had my bachelors to do over again it would likely be done at CSU-Pueblo instead of Charter Oak.
Online Course Catalog - BYU Independent Study $160/credit or so, BYU is a great choice for independent study.

One of the members of the other forum has taken courses through KCTCS. He liked some courses and hated others.

 

Is it possible to just take a whole bunch of credits through independent study and then transfer into a 4 year school after that?
I always had the impression you had to be degree-seeking to apply for a transfer.

 

None of those I listed should care if your degree seeking. The utility of theses credits will be determined by the receiving institution, most schools will at least have a minimal number of credits they will require you to take in residence (30 credits is typical for a bachelors, 15 for an associates). The Big 3; COSC, TESC, And EC will take 114-120 credits towards a bachelors...that's really the feature of these schools that most sets them apart (combined with their wide acceptance of credit by exam).

 

Rio Salado Community College in Arizona is online, inexpensive and has flexible start dates (roughly every Monday). I believe their website is Rio Salado College | Rio Salado College. I could be wrong...
