I believe all but two of the schools on this list of online psychology, human services, and related bachelor's degrees from GetEducated.com is nonprofit.

The two for-profit schools I see listed, American Public University (it's not actually a "public university," it just has that name… long story) and Waldorf College, escape a lot of the criticism attached to other for-profit universities in part because their tuition rates are reasonable.

The "ranks" and "grades" GetEducated posts on the left-hand column here are based on tuition price for in-state students, shown on the right-hand column, and nothing more. This is a bit of a simplification – so I wouldn't put stock in the difference between rankings and grades in and of themselves – but it's a way to organize the information. Why not start your search from the lowest tuition price?

All schools listed are regionally accredited.

I put in an application to Southern New Hampshire University. They have programs i was looking for i can study psychology and criminal justice including crimes against children and children/adolescent disorders i was in a private home school program because i was tortured/abused by teachers in a special education program its accredited by the Georgia Accrediting Commission its not regionally accredited not endorsed by the Georgia Department of education but the high school is supported by the local school system someone told me at SNHU that it has to be accredited not regionally accredited and my school isn't on their list of schools they don't accept so i hope i can get accepted does anyone have any experience with SNHU? on their requirements they just list have to have a high school diploma

Give SNHU time to review your application. If they raise any issue about it, you can advocate for your case then. Even if they need to see something more, there may be alternatives like a proficiency test, or provisional/probationary status where you're not fully admitted to the degree program until you succeed in some SNHU coursework.

I'm very sorry to hear about your high school background. Good luck in your new start in college.

It is a great Social work stream that focuses on children care programs and those who are suffering from mental disorders. By doing this degree you can find various volunteer programs including community development, health-care and educational camps in various countries.

Sure. But since these threads stay active long after you've made your decision, it made sense for me to include the sort of program inquired about in the OP.

If i decide to go for a doctorate in psychology to be referred to as Dr. which degree is for that? i've seen people with a PH.D but aren't called Dr. my course showed us 2 doctorate degrees PH.D and Psy.D both in psychology

Anyone who has a doctorate can call him or herself doctor. Some people choose not to use the title all the time. In some cases, it's inappropriate or confusing to use the title. The PhD and PsyD are both doctoral degrees.

i want to see if anyone can answer this. why do most people have a PH.D than Psy.D in psychology?

In some professional settings, this is more restricted,*in particular, in hospitals or other places where "doctor" might confuse a patient/client into thinking that the holder of an academic doctorate was a medical doctor.

"To be referred to as Dr." is a consequence of earning a doctorate degree, but it's almost certainly not a good primary reason to go for a doctorate. Especially in a context like this, where the focus should be on what you bring to the table to help others, not on what they call you.

I volunteer at a mental health agency for children and adolescents. my supervisor is referred to as Dr he is a psychologist i have mental disorders myself and was tortured/abused as a child by teachers in a special education program so i bring a lot to the table that most counselors and doctors don't have i can understand them a lot better i wanted to know what how they are called a doctor because i always saw people just have PH.D next to their name and some have Dr. and PH.D both by their name
