"Official: Tourism has to be rebuilt for Gulf Coast to survive"

I used to work in tourism-heavy Miami, and the point in the article above really strikes me as important for the long term. Even though it may seem ghoulish to think about a vacation in New Orleans, next year when things become more normalized I definitely plan on going there. There are hundreds of thousands of people who rely on the tourist industry for their living. Some of them will have moved away but many will undoubtedly come back in hopes of rebuilding. Hopefully there'll be many other visitors won't be scared off and want to see the remaining beauty of the region. I hate casinos but I'll definitely spend tourist dollars in other places.
