Mine is not so much changing my mind after I have chosen actually its choosing! I enjoy a wide range of subjects such as psychology, human service, sociology, anthro, history english and the list goes on and on.... How am I to decide what to get my Masters in in order to teach is beyond me! I am still working on it and at this point I have decided on WNMU with two concentrations in psychology and History ( i think). At this point I figure even if I go back and get another Masters I will only be out about 7000 for that one!

    Hard huh;)

I just found something that may make my week. Take a look at the bottom right corner of this link --> School of Continuing Studies

I fall into one of those categories so I will qualify for 50% off of my tuition. That makes the degree cost around $19,000 which is expensive but still manageable. Plus it's an MPH in Disaster Management which sounds pretty damn appealing to me. I have this sinking feeling that I'm missing something though.

I do see that the degree is issued by the School of Continuing Studies (a College under Tulane University) which is similar to Harvard Extension School. I'm curious what the degree actually looks like and if there is a mention of it on transcripts.

The huge positive for me is that the school is right down the road from me and I'm curious if it's possible to pop in on the B&M classes every now and again. I can't tell you guys how excited I am but I'm also trying to keep it in check. The MPH coupled with Disaster Management seems like a killer combination. I looked at the curriculum and it looks really good.

I'm just waiting on that one thing I'm overlooking which will make it all come crashing down... :D

Well not only do I love many subjects i also change my mind frequently. It's amazing that I managed to comeplete both an AAS and BS. The Tulane deal is still a consideration but there is no 50% tuition reduction. Apparently they discontinued that a few years ago but failed to remove it from the website.

So in my thinking about ROI (Return on Investment) I don't think an MPH will do it considering the average salary. So now I sit here trying to figure out a masters degree that will complement my career and BS. I don't want to put all my "eggs into one basket". That's why Penn State has been my first choice. While the degree is an MPS in HLS it has a solid concentration.

I want to take a path that leads me out of law enforcement/HLS/EP but doesn't stray so far that I'm in a new field altogether. I simply want a masters that complements what I've done so far but isn't a CJ degree. I had even considered a second bachelor's but my wife thinks that's nuts. Any ideas would be helpful. I wish I wasn't like this but I'm thankful this is the only part of my life where I act like this.
