Hey there again guys and gals. I've been busy with my core courses through TESC and I'm at the halfway point right now. I'm blowing these classes out of the water because they are in my current career field making them easier than what most people would experience. This has given me a huge advantage so far and I continue to ace each essay.

Anyway here is my current progress thus far. This is what I need at this point:
    B. Humanities 12 hours total (3 Left Needed for degree)
HLS-355: Critical Thinking for Homeland Security (3 hours)---CURRENTLY ENROLLED TESC
Humanities Electives (6 Hours completed through A&IL CLEP) (9) (3 needed)

In need of 3 hours in Humanities. Testing out preferred. Suggestions requested.

    C. Social Sciences 12 hours total
SOC-322: Cultural Diversity in the U.S. ECE TESTING OUT (3 hours)
Social Science Electives (6 Hours completed through SS&H CLEP) (3 Hours given from Administration of Justice course)

The ECE Cultural Diversity test will go here

    D. Natural Science and Mathematics 12 hours (6 left needed for degree)
Mathematics (3 hours Completed through LSU College Algebra)
Mathematics or Natural Science (9) (6 needed for degree)
    BIOL1001 General Biology (3.00) BIO-111

I need 6 hours here. Possibly the Natural Sciences CLEP but I would prefer an easier option if possible. Any suggestions?

    E. General Education Electives 18 hours (Not taken yet....all 18 hours needed)

This is the end right here. I need to fill this with the easiest and quickest CLEP's if possible. Any suggestions?

So you see I need the full 18 hours of general ed electives, 3 hours in Humanities, and 6 hours in Natural Science. The ECE will fit fine so I just need suggestions on the rest. I am needing these to be done by March so I'm working on a limited timeline. This is testing out of 30 hours from now until the end of February. TESC's deadline is 4/1 for all documents for the June graduation. I know it's doable but I need suggestions if possible. Most of you have been through this process before so I do not want to reinvent the wheel so to speak. Also does anyone know if the CLEP's are in the mail if TESC gives even a little bit of leeway on the 4/1 date? It seems like they would considering how far in advance the documents are needed.

On top of this I have been studying for the LSAT as well. I know I'm a glutton for punishment but I'm moving forward at the pace of a lightning bolt. :D Thanks as always! ;)

I read on the TESC web site all transcripts must be received by the school and processed by the time the graduation application is filed. The school does a final evaluation before recommending the student proceed to graduation status. The final evaluation takes a few weeks. The deadlines for graduation eligibility are not flexible as far as I know; you will be bumped to the next graduation period if your academic record is not complete.

    soupbone,

Have you looked at the DSST exams?
    http://www.getcollegecredit.com/resources.html#factsheets

    Humanities
    Public Speaking
    Ethics in America (Upper div)
    Tech Writing

    Nat Sci

Many students take Astronomy and/or General Geology to satisfy their nat sci degree requirements.

    Gen Ed
This may not count as a gen ed course but if you are older than 21 or so the DSST Personal Finance test might be an easy one for you.

You know I may have to give these DSST's a second look. Some of those appear by title to be fairly easy looking courses. Those 18 hours can be in Humanities, Social Sciences, and Natural Sciences.

You know sometimes I get ahead of myself but I found this and I'm going to post it for me and others who might be viewing this thread. So out of these which ones do you guys think might be the quickest (study wise) to take and pass? This is taken directly from the TESC catalog:

This is true. It happened to me. I was off by a couple days by the time they processed everything, so I technically finished in December 2008 and didn't graduate until June 2009 (when it would have been March 09). They are very, very slow and will not move any faster no matter how much you check or how nicely you ask.

This is what bothers me. If they take their sweet time with it then I could possibly have to wait until September. If I consider law school will they accept that the degree requirements are completed but the paper is simply not in hand? Also would TESC even be willing to write a letter of completion stating this fact? Both of these really concern me.

They do give you a letter when they have certified all of your requirements stating that you have been certified for graduation as of X date and will have a degree conferral of X date. Don’t know if that helps, though.

The letter from Thomas Edison State College and transcripts from the source schools are sufficient. Oh, and a good LSAT score plus high GPA really makes all the difference. What law school are you hoping to attend soupbone?

There are two evening options where I'm located. One would be Southern University in Baton Rouge http://www.sulc.edu/students/degree.htm and the other choice is Loyola University in New Orleans http://law.loyno.edu/juris-doctorate-degree

My GPA through TESC is still a 4.0 and when it's all said and done I will have taken 24 hours through them. I'm not sure that this is enough on the GPA side. My transcripts from other schools attended would reflect a good GPA as well. My only bad spot was my first semester in school where I goofed off but I can easily explain this away as immaturity (which is the truth). If they review my adult GPA (25 years old +) I have only one "B" and the rest of my grades (from all the different schools attended) are "A"s so I would hope this would be taken into consideration. Loyola is more selective and the average LSAT range for entrance is higher than Southern.

    Southern University
    Low GPA-2.52
    High GPA-3.26
    Low LSAT-143
    High LSAT-149

    Loyola University
    Low GPA-3.09
    High GPA-3.56
    Low LSAT-149
    High LSAT-155

My real concern is getting everything done in time for the fall semester. I'm studying like a mad scientist right now and hopefully it will all work out. I really need to put together my CLEP/Dantes plan on paper so that I know exactly what I need to finish this up. The TESC courses are already in progress so I'm good there.
