    In one of the ironic twists of life we are employer (through payment of taxes) and client (through receipt of services) of the police and perpetrator of various offenses. Talk about a Jekyll and Hyde complex... :confused:

    I am reading this post with interest; I think that the DL paradigm is close to see the learning as product, rather than a process, and this for a variety of reasons. The "learners" are generally motived, usually are mature professionals who are seeking further education or a professional qualification with the goal of job advancement, career change, or just to improve their education level.

    The learning as a process is a more traditional view, where in this case the "student" needs a collaborative support, he/she is less motivated, not as focused as the first example, obviously in my opinion. In the first instance I see the learner as a "customer" of a product, which is his or her learning and in the latter view the learner fits more into a traditional "student" role.
