Mw wife's first CLEP - College Mathematics

My sweet wife slam dunked her first CLEP exam today! She earned a 69 on the College Mathematics CLEP exam today.

To prep - she took the Baron's CLEP practice exam, and then reviewed for a week with videos on Khan Academy. :cool2:

WOW! Nice score! Thats 6 credits at most institutions.

 

Just out of curiosity, what did that test transfer as? I was thinking about taking one of the math cleps to get some extra math credits to possibly be able get an Algebra I add-on endorsement for high school. Virginia says you have to have 21 credits with a mix of math and some computer science. I have 19 credits from undergrad back in the day.

At Clovis, we are not sure how they will transfer the class. The catalog is a little vague. At the University of Saint Francis (USF), which is her next destination on the educational journey, she will earn 6 credits for MATH 120.

She will have to take a college algebra course at USF to fulfill grad requirements.

What's MATH 120? I think I read somewhere that the VCCS (Virginia Community College System) awards credit for a class they call "Math for the Liberal Arts." I can't recall where I read that, though. I'm not sure if that would count towards the 21 credits I'd need. Might still be worth a try, though.

With CLEPs you find out your score as soon as you're done, right? Do they also send the report to the community college right then? Or is there a delay?
