    Yes, if I had to choose among the options listed. However, I would probably not pursue any of these options.

    Elitism. CCs aren't really in a position to be elitist. Universities, on the other hand, have the issues of prestige, ranking, etc.

    You are looking the MFA in the wrong way. Yes, it is a termnal degree but it's practiciner degree. It's meant for a artist that practices the subject not just for theory or teaching. Yes, ou can teach with it but most schools would only hire a Mfa, from any art subject, if the degree holder also have professinal experience and produced art.

    In my case (tv, animation, etc...) what counts is my portfolio, my sort films, etc... In the case of creative writing, that would be a novel or maybe several short-stories published by professinal magazines.

    A MFA alone is a weak credential.

    I understand what you're saying, and I am a practitioner -- songwriter and published poet. I just need to make a living while I'm practicing.
