    a reminder

Just a reminder: Breyer State claims accreditation from the unrecognized "Central States Consortium of Colleges & Schools."

CSCCS's parent organization lists BSU's president as its executive director.

BSU also holds accreditation from the International Commission For Higher Education which used to accredit a bunch of St. Regis group entities.

Further, CSCCS also accredits the (cough cough) Medical College of London. MCL claims to teach at 107 Fleet Street in London, as well as in Montserrat.

    It is what it is.

I have browsed the Breyer State University's website. It explains the university is approved by the Department of Post-Secondary Education of the state of Alabama. Then, I have checked the website of the Department of Post-Secondary Education of the state of Alabama that really discloses the university's name at http://www.acs.cc.al.us/privateschool/SchoolList.aspx .

I donn't really understand. If Breyer State University is a degree mill, does it mean the Department of Post-Secondary Education of the state of Alabama is a degree mill producer in USA since it allows the licence of this university to operate? Is any uses or values for such type of university degrees approved by the state?

What is the purpose or mission of this department? To allow or assist degree mill operations?

First, as far as I can tell, no one in this particular thread is calling BSU a mill. (Although I am certain that a lot of us are thinking it.). Second, even if school is licensed by the state of Alabama (which they are) that is a far cry from being the equivalent of regionaly accredited. In my opinion this is a sub-standard school that makes KWU look like Harvard. Furthermore, even the state of Alabama makes a distinction between school licensing and accreditation in their web site.

    Godspeed
